BISHOP GREGORY BLESSES THE MARONITE COMMUNITY
OF WILKES-BARRE, PA. WITH HIS FIRST PASTORAL VISIT.
Friday evening, March 10, 2006
Upon our Shepherd's, Bishop Gregory Mansour,
arrival, he was given a welcome and a gift presentation of roses in St. Sharbel Hall.
Accompanying Sayidna was the Vicar General for our Eparchy, Chorbishop Michael
Thomas. Bishop Gregory thanked everyone for their warm welcome.

Sayidna and Chorbishop Michael moved among the parishioners greeting them individually.

A Lenten meal was served and then Bishop Gregory gave his opening remarks for the Parish gathering after services.

We moved to Church for the Way of the Cross and Benediction with the Holy Cross. There was a very good attendance and the chanting and prayer participation was exceptional and all this made for an appropriate beginning for our time together.

After services, we returned to the church hall for refreshments. A question-and-answer period followed using questions submitted by parishioners and moderated by Parish Advisory Board President Dr. Raymond Khoudary. Sayidna took the time to answer each concern and present us with his view on those subjects of greatest concern about the needs of our parish and community. Chorbishop Michael gave additional comment and instruction.
Sayidna concluded the evening by wishing our parishioners a "Good Night".
